It was reported in a local newspaper that Millar Buzzard, Major Vincent’s stepson, was a representative for the Dandaraga Pastoral Company.

Every farm and station, across Australia, had, and continue to have, stock brands to identify their grazing stock. Dandaraga Station had stock brands registered in the name of “W.S. Vincent” and “Vincent and Buzzard” in 1912. With Millar’s name registered the on brand register, it can be assumed that Millar was a partner in the Dandaraga Pastoral Company. The register of stock brands was not updated regularly as their brands were still on the register in 1924, many years after they sold the station.

Gold was found on the station in 1903 and the town of Maninga Marley was built to service the goldfields in the area. Gold was still being mined in 1927 but there is no information on when the mines closed. Today there is major mining activity in the area.

By late 1912, Major Vincent must have been seeking a buyer for the station. On 24th May 1913, it was reported in the West Australian newspaper, that Major Vincent, of Dandaraga Station near Maninga Marley, had sold the 170,000 acre station, with all stock and plant thereon, to a Mr. J. G. Grant of Glengarry, Geraldton, W.A., at a satisfactory price.

It was also reported in the Black Range Courier and Sandstone Observer on 24th May 1913, that Major Vincent had left a week prior for Adelaide, South Australia. In fact, Major Vincent and Millar both left Fremantle on the “Marmora” on 21st May 1913 for the east.

Millar was probably visiting family in Adelaide and returned soon after to W.A. He decided to settle in W.A. and married Margaret Mary Sheridan, in Sandstone, on 22nd October 1913. They moved to the Geraldton area of W.A. and then settled in Moora, W.A., with other Sheridan family members.

By mid-1915, the members of the Vincent family who were still living in Adelaide were Major Vincent and wife Emily Alice, Vera (who was soon to marry John Russell Cuthill) and Alys Buzzard, William Junior, Barbara and Joan Vincent. Marjorie Tweedie (nee Buzzard), as previously mentioned, was living in in the suburb of Beaumont.
